I can’t tell you how badly I would like to post a video of my Little right now as she stands on top of her bed holding her pink and yellow plastic microphone, tossing her long hair over shoulder, belting out an out-of-tune tune about her missing pet at the top of her lungs.
But alas, I will contain my urge to post on the slight chance that in 32 years, she will be running for the highest office in the United States of America. (Hey, after this election season, I’m pretty convinced that anyone can run!)
Now, don’t get me wrong, this doesn’t mean that I won’t post any pictures of my kids online. In fact, I do…a lot! But I try to be very careful where and when I post pics.
Social media is a great tool for connecting with family and friends, and sharing life events have never been easier. But it’s also easy for my pics to fall into the wrong hands, and after the magic of Photoshop and a multitude of apps, a viral meme has been created! Aaaah!
Yes, I know, sometimes it happens to some lucky kid who ends up on the Ellen show and she gives that lucky kid a full-ride scholarship to the college of choice. …Every parent’s dream.
But sorry, Little, not for me and not for you. I’m going to save that video of you singing on the bed for just the right time…. At your wedding reception in front of 200 of your closest family and friends.
